Instead of expansion, maybe the BigXII should negotiate its surrender.
A multitude of posts below got me thinking about this. What if the BigXII just said, "Hey, maybe it will do the most good for the most members to at least see what our options are as individuals on our own"? Texas might be able to take a handful of school with it to, say, the Pac12 or ACC. Maybe Oklahoma can go off in a different direction and take a few of their own along. Could WVU hitch on to the ACC without Texas or Oklahoma? Could Kansas go to the B1G and maybe persuade them to take Iowa State or K-State?
If they agree in advance that there is a risk of one or more schools being left behind, I wonder if they could move forward on doing what's best for most of its members.
Bottom line is, the current trajectory of the league isn't sustainable.
